National
IPM Programme initiated IPM activities in Bahawalpur (Punjab)
in 2002 with the establishment of six FFS (Farmer Field
Schools) and training of 125 farmers. During the following
year Farmers Training of Facilitators (FToF) was initiated
where 21 active farmers from previous year's FFS were selected
and trained as facilitators and established six numbers
of FFS where 150 farmers were trained. The National IPM
Programme had strengthened the capacity of FFS trained farmers
in shape of making farmer's organizations so that farmers
in future may work independently on self help basis and
as a result of these efforts the KWA became into existence
in 2003. It was registered under Joint Stock Companies Act.
XXI of 1860 in 2004, with registration No. R-BWP/26, 2003-2004.
